June to July 2003

“003 was a busy cruising year in which Compromis sailed close to 3500 nM which inolved sailing all the way down the west coast of Italy, up the Adriatic coast to Venice, all the way down Croatia before sailing back up the west coast of Italy to Antibes.

2003 therefore generated far more stories and pictures and so I’ve split the year in two and adopted a more pictorial style for the second half so that Croatia 2003 is written up before we go down to the boat in 2004.

There are some articles and some new recipes but many more photographs with the option to enlarge those that may take you fancy.

Margaret and Ray flew into Venice from Canada and then sailed from Venice to Umag, Rovinj, Losinj and down to Zadar.

Liz and I were on our own for three weeks during which time we drove to Dubrovnik and then sailed from Zadar to Dugi Otak, explored lots of the smaller islands and then Trogir before ending up in Split.

Ian and Enid flew into Split and off we went back to the islands and then a memorable trip up the River Krka to the Falls.

Back at Split Tim, Anne and the girls came across from Ancona on the ferry and we thoroughly explored Brac, Hvar and the coast south of Split.
