We are Rudi and Liz Polednik, retired teachers from Norwich in England.

Liz is the one motoring Compromis out of Calvi on Corsica while I sit around doing very little.

Three years before retiring we bought Compromis planning to explore the Mediterranean from east to west and north to south. The website gives some idea of the progress so far.

We have cruised Mediterranean France, Corsica, Sardinia, Italy from Genoa to Venice and then back via Croatia.

I have written most of Our Articles and have been trying hard to improve my writing skills. It is another of my hobbies to which I have been able to devote more time since I retired.

At regular intervals I will update the articles.

One of the reasons for moving to the Mediterranean was the food.  Eating out is a delight and the fresh fruit, vegetables, fish and meat make cooking good food on board so much easier.

Compromis Cook Book has recipes from myself and friends who have sailed on Compromis.  Each recipe comes with photographs and a description which set the scene for the meal.

There is no prize for guessing the name of this port.  There are clues elsewhere in the site.

Sailing in for the first time was one of the adventures of our cruising as it was for a famous Greek some thousands of years ago.

Many of you must have fascinating stories from your sailing and be bursting to tell the world. Send them to yachtcompromis and I will try to publish them on the site in Reader’s Articles.

Walking from the marina into San Remo in Italy the road passes this beach and the view through the harbour entrance out to sea.  I’ve put it in here for no reason other than I like it.

In this section I’ve included useful links along with some links to sites of friends who have helped me with making my site.
